Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) is an independent, non-governmental, business-professional and interest association of legal and natural persons who perform registered economic activity. Members of the CCIS are companies from all economic sectors and branches, in all forms of ownership, banks and other financial organizations, insurance organizations, agricultural cooperatives - as collective members through their alliance, and craft and other shops - as collective members through their associations. CCIS is established by the Law on Chambers of Commerce ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia", no. 65/01, 36/09 and 99/11).
The functions of the CCIS are consisted of the following areas: interest association of the economy - representation of common interests of enterprises and other economic entities in front of state bodies and organizations, in the creation of the economic system, economic policy measures, conditions of doing business; the place for gathering and negotiating - matching the interests and activities of the company, establishing common attitudes, exchanging experiences, establishing business connections, etc. business-professional institution - providing its members with certain information, professional assistance and consulting services; development harmonization - participation in creation and realization of development strategy, regional development policy, infrastructure and new projects; fostering good business practices - strengthening corporate morale in the economy, honour courts and arbitration; public authorizations - issuance of certificates, approvals and licenses in doing business with foreign companies, company solvency, keeping of registers; informing the public - informing the economy and the public about the work of the Chamber and its organs, informing within the chamber system, cooperation with the media, publishing the newsletter of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia "PKS info", etc.
